Giving To The Frostig Center For Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond

The Frostig Center is a non-profit organization that specializes in working with children who have learning disabilities. Founded in 1951 by Dr. Marianne Frostig, a pioneer in the field of education, the Center is dedicated to continuing Dr. Frostig’s work by:

  • Conducting groundbreaking research into the causes and treatments of learning disabilities;

  • Offering training programs for parents, educators, and other professionals working with children with learning difficulties;

  • Providing direct services to children with learning disabilities in the greater San Gabriel Valley and throughout Southern California through the Frostig School, after school tutoring programs, and summer workshops.

To continue our tradition of excellence in serving children who struggle with learning, the Frostig Center needs your help. Tuition fees and service contracts only support 85% of the Center’s true operating costs -- the remaining 15% must be covered in other ways.

Here is a list of ways you can help:

Gifts of Time
Volunteer your time, talent, and skills! The Frostig Center is looking for helping hands. We are always in need of volunteers for staffing of our special events.

Gifts-in-Kind
The donation of much-needed services and resources such as printing, general contracting, food for events, office supplies, computers and printers, automobiles, materials for the art and drama programs, and sports equipment is another way to help the Frostig Center. Please contact the Development Department before you make a donation to be sure your gift can be put to good use.

Gifts of Cash
The easiest and most common way to support the Frostig Center is to participate in the Annual Giving Campaign that begins in the fall and ends in the spring. The Annual Giving Campaign provides critical support to the school program, enabling it to continue its excellent programs. Monies raised through the Campaign support student enrichment activities, fund special programs and augment teachers’ salaries.

Legacy Fund
Support of the Legacy Fund helps to build a special endowment that is used exclusively for increasing teachers' salaries.

Tribute Gifts
Make a donation to the Frostig Center to remember a birthday, anniversary, graduation, wedding or other special occasion. When a tribute gift is made, we will send a special note to the honorees to let them know that you have made a gift in their honor.

Memorial Gifts
To honor the memory of a departed loved one, a gift can be made to the Frostig Center. A special note will be sent to the family to inform them of your remembrance.

Frostig Endownment Gifts
Gifts to the Frostig Endowment Fund will help ensure that the Frostig mission is continued in perpetuity. The principle of the Endowment Fund is invested and its earnings are used to support the Center’s programs and services, so your gift will have enduring significance.

Appreciated Assets
Gifts of stock, real estate and other assets will benefit Frostig as well as provide tax savings to the donor.

Wills, Bequests and Planned Gifts
With proper planning, providing for heirs while minimizing your exposure to income and estate taxes is possible through a number of planned giving strategies like wills, charitable remainder trusts, and annuities. Planned giving strategies can help you build your legacy while helping Frostig continue its mission today, tomorrow, and beyond.

For more information on the many ways you can help support the Frostig Center please contact the Development Department by phone at (626) 791-1255 or by e-mail.

Thank you!
